A colourful thanksgiving ceremony for uniformed officers and their families from Embu, Tharaka Nithi, and Meru counties was held on June 7, 2025, at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Parish in Embu.
The annual event recognises the spiritual role of God in safeguarding Kenya’s Disciplined Services and celebrates the sacrifices officers make in maintaining peace and security.
Presided over by Rt. Rev. Peter Kimani Ndung’u, Bishop of the Diocese of Embu, the Holy Mass drew participants from the National Police Service, Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Prisons, Kenya Wildlife Service, and National Youth Service.
Based on Psalms 18:32, the bishop praised officers for their courage and dedication in the line of duty.
Also present were Deputy County Commissioner Mercy Gatobu, senior security officers, and chaplains from various service units.
