Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged the young people, mostly Generation Z, to continue fighting for their rights to secure their future.
Speaking on Friday during the burial of rally driver Kibathi Muigai, Uhuru regretted that the youth had relented in their fight for good leadership, questioning if they had been threatened.
He implored them to renew their fight for what is rightfully theirs, not to sit back and watch their hard-earned wealth being taken away.
“The problem of people nowadays is people are afraid. I don't know if you have been threatened. Gen Zs are the story of the future. Fight for your rights. Fight to ensure you are getting what is rightfully yours.
“Don't stand and watch as your wealth is taken from you. Everything is worth fighting for. If you do not fight for it, don't cry if it is taken away," said Uhuru.
The former head of state went on to challenge his niece Ngina to join in the fight, adding people his age are behind them.
Uhuru’s call may come as a shocker, as he seemingly made amends with President William Ruto, that even led to the appointment of his allies to the Kenya Kwanza Cabinet.
