The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has held a consultative meeting with its elected leaders from Meru and Tharaka Nithi counties as the party prepares for its ongoing ward-level grassroots elections.

The meeting focused on the internal electoral process and broader political strategies ahead of the 2027 General Election.

UDA National Chairperson and Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire chaired the meeting, which brought together Members of Parliament and other elected leaders from the two counties.

The party’s National Elections Board (NEB) Chairperson Anthony Mwaura briefed the leaders on the board’s elections management plan and urged them to mobilise their constituents to participate in the grassroots polls.

Governor Mbarire reaffirmed UDA’s commitment to conducting free, fair, credible and transparent internal elections.
The meeting brought together Meru Deputy Governor Linda Kiome, Senator Kathurima Murungi and MPs from various constituencies in Meru and Tharaka Nithi.

Other attendees included Chuka/Igambang’ombe MP Patrick Munene, Tharaka MP George Murugara, Nominated MP Dorothy Muthoni, Marimanti MCA Kennedy Kamunyu, Esther Mukiri and members of the party secretariat.

The engagement is part of UDA’s strategy to strengthen coordination between its national leadership and grassroots structures.
