A 30-year-old man and his 20-year-old girlfriend are receiving treatment at Kiambu Level Five Hospital after a suspected attempted murder and suicide incident.
According to outgoing Kiambu Police Commander Michael Muchiri, the woman sustained multiple stab wounds on her neck and hands before being rushed to the hospital.
Following her admission, officers proceeded to a rented house near St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where they found the man unconscious on the bed.

A pool of blood, a bloodstained knife, and a plastic container of battery acid—suspected to have been consumed by the man—were discovered at the scene. Police also noted that battery sulphuric acid had spilled on the floor.
Both individuals remain in serious condition, and authorities are waiting for them to stabilize before conducting interrogations to determine the motive behind the incident.
Investigations into attempted murder and suicide are ongoing.
