Kenyan media personality and content creator King Kalala has gone into details about the end of her romance with the popular trio 3Men Army over an unpaid gig left her shortchanged.
Speaking candidly, Kalala explained that the soap opera is connected to a show they did over a year ago. In her own words, even though she showed up and delivered, she never received any payment for the work.
“We had a gig last year hawakunilipa (they didn’t pay me) and they no longer answer my calls,” she complained.
Kalala’s confession has sparked controversy on social media, with a majority of fans lamenting the regularity with which creatives in Kenya face delayed or non-payment following performances.
The 3Men Army, who have their name for hilarious skits and their strong online presence, have not issued a public statement regarding Kalala’s accusations yet. Fans are left speculating if the two parties will be able to work together again or if this is the end of their promising collaboration.
