Police in Trans Nzoia County have arrested two men suspected to be part of a criminal organisation, cashing several items suspected to have been used for criminal purposes.
The operation, which was intelligence-led policing, involved officers from Kitale Police Station collaborating with detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The team conducted coordinated raids in the Chebarus and Kibomet areas within Trans Nzoia West Sub-County. During the operation, the police arrested two suspects identified as Dickson Wamocho and Frank Kuyala.
A follow-up search, led to the discovery of a military-style tactical uniform, two pairs of combat boots, a sword, metal rods, and several mobile phones.The police suspect that the seized items were used in the commission of a crime however further investigations will reveal their exact role in the crime.
The suspects are in police custody undergoing processing and will soon appear in court for charges. All recovered items have been kept as exhibits that will be used to prosecute the case.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations once again affirmed its resolve to break down organised crime networks through intelligence-driven operations. The police have also urged the public to keep on sharing reliable information.
