Two Arrested After Police Recover Stolen Kenya Power Equipment in Mtwapa

Two men have been arrested by police after stolen Kenya Power cables and electrical equipment were recovered from a rented house in Mtwapa, Kilifi County.

The arrests were made after police operation on Tuesday as police from Mtwapa Police Station received a tip on the whereabouts of the stolen equipment. The detectives had been tracking the stolen equipment from various theft incidents targeting Kenya Power installations.

The police received information on the whereabouts of the stolen equipment from tip-offs on the whereabouts of the stolen equipment. The information led the police to a house near the Cabros-Tausi Hotel. The police knocked on the door and entered the house. The police found electrical equipment stored inside the house. The equipment was found stored away as if it was being stored for later use. The stolen equipment found in the house comprised electrical equipment stolen from power lines and installations around the area.

The two suspects found in the house were arrested and taken to Mtwapa Police Station for further action. The suspects are expected to be charged with the offense as investigations progress.

The recovered equipment has been kept safely as evidence, while police say the crackdown on those targeting public utilities will continue.
