Kip Keino Classic Athletes

Nairobi’s Nyayo Stadium is set to roar louder today as the 7th Kip Keino Classic Continental Tour Gold brings together world and Olympic champions in a showcase of speed, strength and innovation.

The annual meet, named after Kenya’s legendary middle-distance runner Kipchoge Keino, has grown into one of Africa’s and world’s premier athletics events.

This race will raise Kenya into the limelight as it is the first time in Kenya, to feature “Wavelight technology,” a cutting -edge pacing system that uses LED lights along the track to guide athletes towards record-breaking performances.

The Wavelight technology has already been used in European meets, Wavelight debut in Nairobi signals Kenya’s growth in hosting world- class athletes events.

This is a statement of Kenya’s placed in global athletics, attracting Olympic champions and introducing advanced technology, a hub of innovation and excellence in track and field.

The Kip Keino Classic will feature famous world record holders such as Ferdinand Omanyala(KEN), Gabby Thomas(USA), Bryan Levell (JAM), Emmanuel Wanyonyi (KEN), Zandrain Barnes (JAM), among many others
