Sarah Cohen Wairimu, the widow of slain Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen, has been rearrested and will be charged afresh with his murder.

Wairimu was rearrested after the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) discovered new ‘overwhelming evidence’ linking her to the murder of Cohen on the night of July 19, 2019.

She was nabbed on Thursday, January 23, after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) received the new evidence from the DCI and directed she be charged with murder.

Following the new development, the DPP made an application for the termination of an inquest into the murder, which was granted.

"Upon independent and thorough review of the new material, the DPP is satisfied that Wairimu was involved in the death of Tob Cohen," said the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
