In the post, now gone viral, Terence spoke candidly about the temporary nature of fame and advised creatives to invest in their future while still earning.

“I have witnessed how they treat you when you’re famous and in your hay days, and I have witnessed how they treat you when you’re after fame,” Terence penned. He told artists to invest in land, build homes for their families, and venture into side hustles even as simple as selling groundnuts or eggs to have steady cash flow.

The comedian further stressed the importance of health insurance, education policies for children, and emergency savings, pointing out that every career in the entertainment industry has a shelf life. “Think of your retirement now while you’re making cash,” he urged, adding that artists should learn from those who came before them.

Terence gave his stance based on decades of experience backstage, where he had witnessed the majority of the artists languish after the spotlight dimmed. He concluded his message with the hashtag #ChanuqaMsanii, urging fellow artists to think long-term if they are to survive and remain grounded in the industry.
