Tatu City has launched one of the largest public outdoor gyms in Kenya, offering free access to residents and visitors alike.
Located at City Park near Unity Homes within the expansive 5,000-acre Tatu City development, the new gym provides a unique fitness destination, equipped with advanced workout machines, including sky steppers, health walkers, and rowers.
Designed as a family-friendly space, the facility includes a dedicated children’s play area, making it ideal for both fitness enthusiasts and families seeking outdoor leisure activities.
Angela Muthoga, Tatu City’s Events and Sustainability Manager, described the gym as a vibrant space for community wellness.
“This is a place for everyone to come together, stay active, and enjoy the outdoors,” she said.
The gym is part of the larger Sports@Tatu initiative, which also features a football astroturf, basketball court, cycling paths, walkways, and scenic nature trails all connected through the community’s Green Link network.
Kanana Ndegwa, Unity Homes’ Head of Marketing, praised the initiative as a perfect complement to Unity Homes’ mission of offering affordable housing with ample recreational spaces.
In addition to the gym, Tatu City has hosted notable sporting events this year, including Kiambu County’s largest running event and a cycling race with over 500 participants.
Open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., the outdoor gym underscores Tatu City’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle within its growing community and the surrounding areas.
