Tana River Senator Danson Mungatana has offered a robust defense of President William Ruto following a series of statements from opposition leaders that question his leadership and political trajectory.

While in Tana River county, Mungatana portrayed the President as a humble and a respectful leader with a vision that the country would move forward.

He rejected the associations that were being done between President Ruto and the Malawian President, who only served one term, stating that such equalities did not lower Ruto’s level or his honesty.

“Ruto cannot be compared to the leader from Malawi who voluntarily took just one term. He is a leader who keeps his word with his people and has a clear pathway for the nation,” said Mungatana.

He made his remarks in the middle of an energetic political controversy, where opposition leaders have been heatily criticizing the President’s style of administration.

He, however, went on to say that it was the humility and the sense of respect which the President had that made his leadership stand out among the others.
