President William Ruto has announced a major development package worth KSh15 billion aimed at transforming infrastructure in Nyamira County through the construction of affordable housing units, modern markets, and student hostels.
The Head of State said the investment is part of the government’s broader agenda to improve living standards and stimulate economic growth at the county level.
The housing component is expected to ease pressure on urban settlements, while the modern markets will enhance trade activities for local businesses.
“We are investing KSh15 billion to build affordable housing units, modern markets, and student hostels in Nyamira County,” Ruto said.
In addition, President Ruto confirmed that the government has secured KSh900 million for the construction of a new stadium in Nyamira County.
The facility is expected to promote sports development, nurture local talent, and provide a venue for both regional and national events.
He further announced that KSh1 billion will be allocated to the upgrade of Nyamira County Referral Hospital. The upgrade is expected to strengthen healthcare services, improve medical equipment, and expand access to quality treatment for residents.
