The implementation of Taifa Care continues to prioritize cutting-edge medical imaging, radiation therapy, ultrasound, and advanced diagnostics, ensuring equitable healthcare access as envisioned in the BETA Manifesto.

As part of this commitment, the Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Mr. Harry Kimtai, today hosted Mr. Vivek Kanade, CEO for the Middle East and Africa at Siemens Healthineers, for a courtesy call to discuss how breakthrough innovations by Siemens can enhance the patient care journeyโ€”from prevention and early detection to diagnosis, therapy, and follow-up care.

One such innovation is the drone project in Uasin Gishu, where drones are deployed to collect medical samples from rural health centers and deliver them to specialized laboratories.

This technology effectively addresses logistical challenges posed by inadequate road networks, significantly reducing transportation time for critical medical supplies and improving healthcare access in remote areas.

The adoption of drone technology by the Uasin Gishu County Government, in partnership with key stakeholders such as Siemens Healthineers, marks a significant milestone in leveraging modern technology to strengthen healthcare delivery.

Such innovations play a crucial role in advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring that no one is left behind.
