In a successful intelligence-led operation, a multi-agency team consisting of detectives from the Transnational Organized Crime and Anti-Narcotics units, along with officers from Mutarakwa police post in Limuru subcounty, have apprehended two suspects and seized a significant haul of narcotics. The operation resulted in the recovery of nine 90-kilogram sacks filled with cannabis sativa.

The crackdown took place along the Maai Mahiu-Nairobi Road within the Limuru area, where law enforcement officers intercepted a white Toyota Noah, registration number KCX 728Q.

The vehicle, which was being driven by 37-year-old Minja Jimmy, was found carrying Jimmy and his accomplice, 37-year-old Bernard Nyabero Nyakangi, both of whom are believed to be part of a narcotics trafficking ring.

Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, authorities discovered the sacks of cannabis, which were neatly concealed in black polythene bags. The vehicle, along with the illicit cargo, was immediately escorted to the Mutarakwa police post, where the suspects were booked in for processing.

Following their detention, both Minja and Nyakangi were transferred to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for further interrogation and eventual arraignment.

The law enforcement agencies involved have vowed to continue their efforts to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking networks operating within the region.
