Founded in 1990, KTN was Kenya’s first privately owned television station, marking a major shift in the media landscape by offering a platform for diverse voices in a previously state-controlled environment.
Over the years, KTN became renowned for its innovative programming and for nurturing the careers of many leading journalists in the country.
In 2015, the Standard Group launched KTN News, Kenya’s first 24-hour news channel.
