Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie has officially joined the elite ranks of the eighth film cinema history, surpassing $2 billion (Ksh 259.3 billion) global ticket sales in three weeks after its release.

The film has captivated audiences across continents, cementing its legacy as one of the most bankable superheroes of all time. According to reports, the film has generated $785 million in North America and $1.23 billion internationally, taking its worldwide total to 2.02 billion.

It’s the second-fastest movie to reach the threshold after Avengers: Endgame remains the fastest to achieve the milestone within 11 days.

The film’s narrative explores themes of identity, sacrifice and renewal; its success shows the global interest in superhero cinema.

Box office analysts say it can sustain its pace in the coming weeks if people will continue watching. They added its potential target is for it to become the first film to generate $1 billion in domestic ticket sales and potentially reach $3 billion worldwide.

The film features Tom Holland reprising his role as Peter Parker, supported by Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. Director Jon Watts speculated that the film’s consistent successful resulting it to an engaging content.
