President William Ruto has lauded the National Land Commission (NLC) for its crucial role in protecting public land and promoting fairness in land management across the country.

Speaking after receiving the exit report from the outgoing commissioners at State House, the President said the NLC has been instrumental in resolving long-standing land disputes since its establishment under the 2010 Constitution.

“The National Land Commission has played a vital role in safeguarding public land and shaping fair policies. As a result, tens of thousands of Kenyans have been settled and issued land ownership documents,” President Ruto noted.

He thanked the outgoing team for their exemplary service and dedication to the nation, wishing them success in their future endeavours.

Those exiting the commission include Chairperson Gershom Otachi, Vice-Chairperson Gertrude Nduku Nguku, Prof James Tuitoek, and Kazungu Kambi. Others are Commissioners Hubbie Hussein Al-Haji, Alister Murimi Mutugi, and Reginald Okumu.

Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome was also present during the event.
