Six suspects linked to violent robbery and burglary in Mtwapa on January 28 have been arrested by detectives from Kilifi South Sub-County.
The officers ambushed them from a hideout in Vipingo where the suspects were believed to have gone underground after their criminal escapades.
The operation led to the arrest of Mustafa Majeza Juma, Bubbline Kitsao Kazungu, and Abdul Mwatondo Matano.
Six mobile phones, eight national identity cards belonging to different individuals, two Somali swords, two pangas, and a cash bail receipt in Mustafa Majeza Juma’s name were recovered.
The receipt relates to an attempted robbery with violence case, for which the suspect had an active warrant of arrest.
Under interrogation, the trio led detectives to additional accomplices; Swale Mwarauka, Mohammed Juma, and Hamisi Rama.
A search of the second hideout uncovered 18 large rolls of cannabis sativa, a weighing scale, and Sh7,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds of crime.
All six suspects were escorted to Mtwapa Police Station for processing and later arraigned.
