The alt-pop and internet personality Oliver Tree Nickell and six other people have died in a helicopter they were traveling in collided with another in Brazil.
The 32-year-old was on a world tour when the crash occurred in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, as one of the helicopters fell onto a car dealership, setting around 20 cars ablaze.

Oliver Tree is known for his songs such as “Alien Boy” and “Life Goes On,” as well as his bowl-cut wigs, oversized jackets and comedic persona and multi–genre music that blends pop, rock and electronic.
In 2024, he became an international touring sensation, selling out shows across Europe, Australia and Asia, collaborating with artists like Little Big and Robin Schulz.

According to the Military Fire Department, states the other passengers in the helicopter were Lucas Brito Chaves, Lucas Vignale and pilot Alexander Souza.
YouTuber KSI have paid an emotional tribute, stating, “Can’t believe I’m actually having to type this. You’re 32, man… You’re a legend and will always be a legend. Still doesn’t feel real. Genuinely feel sick. I love you bro.”
Stephen Glover also paid tribute, stating, “I was incredibly lucky to become friends with Oliver Tree. He would check in on me regularly and let me know he cared about how I was doing…I’m going to miss him.”
Tree is holds a 2020 Guinness World Record for building the largest kick scooter at 4.16m tall and 3.13m long.
