Kenya’s national football team, Harambee Stars, are set to test their strength against African heavyweights Senegal in an international friendly scheduled for November 18 in Antalya, Turkey.
The fixture was confirmed by the Senegalese Football Federation via their official social media platforms, creating uncertainty around Kenya’s previously planned encounter with the Comoros Islands, which had been slated for the same day.
Head coach Benni McCarthy will first lead his charges against Madagascar on November 14, a clash that rekindles their CHAN 2024 quarterfinal battle from August.
The back-to-back fixtures are expected to give the South African tactician a valuable chance to assess his squad’s depth and tactical flexibility.
Senegal, meanwhile, will have a busy November schedule, facing Brazil on November 16 at London’s Emirates Stadium before heading to Turkey to take on Kenya.
The friendly matches form part of the Teranga Lions’ preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Senegal squad to face Harambee Stars
The two sides last met during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where Senegal claimed a 3–0 victory in the final Group C match.
This upcoming meeting offers Harambee Stars an ideal opportunity to measure their progress as they continue their rebuild under McCarthy, with an eye firmly fixed on the 2027 AFCON, which Kenya will co-host.
