Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has demanded the resignation of Labor Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua over the abroad jobs recruitment scandal.
The Senator alleged that Kenyan youths who were affected by the scandal have demanded his resignation.
“On behalf of the youths who were conned with fake jobs abroad, I demand that Labour CS Alfred Mutua steps down to pave the way for credible investigations,” demanded Senator Khalwale during Senate proceedings on Wednesday.
This comes days after the Mutua stated that the government had no relation to the allegations.
“These people who have been conned are not part of the government’s recruitment program. They are Kenyans who have been taken advantage of by scammers,” said Dr. Alfred as he distanced the Ministry of Labor from the agencies.
However, Kenyans who went through the registration process by the government, have complained that the process has taken longer.
Dr. Alfred urged that the process is fair and transparent and that qualified Kenyans should be patient.
