The lives of families living in the Mwache Dam region are set to improve after the government introduced two major projects that will see the area benefit from improved security and health care.
In a message posted on X, the Internal Security and National Administration Principal Secretary, Raymond Omollo, said that development of the region, especially the Mwache Dam, is not only about developing the area, but also taking care of the lives of those living in the region.
The projects will see the construction of a new Police Post at Kasemeni, dubbed the “Go and Report” Police Post, and the construction of homes for the police officers stationed there. The main goal of the new development is to ensure that the residents are protected at all times.
The residents have often been forced to travel long distances to report various occurrences to the authorities. The new development will ensure that the residents can easily access the police and get the required assistance.
The other major development that will see the lives of residents improve is the upgrade of Mazeras Clinic. The upgrade will serve more patients and reduce the burden on residents who currently travel long distances to find health services.
Omollo noted that security and health go hand in hand, especially in areas experiencing major projects like the dam. Without safety and reliable healthcare, he said, development cannot fully benefit the community.
By putting up a police post and fixing the clinic, the government hopes to create a safer and healthier environment for families living within the dam’s zone.
For residents, the changes mean something practical closer services, quicker help and a little more peace of mind as the area continues to grow.
