Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has broken his silence after a DNA test confirmed he is not the biological father of one of the children he has been raising, in a revelation that has stirred emotional reactions online.
According to the test results seen by Tukio, the test which had been conducted in Nairobi and dated April 22, 2026, ruled him out as the biological father after multiple genetic mismatches were identified.
According to the report, the results showed a combined paternity index of 0.00 and a probability of paternity of 0.00 percent, effectively excluding him.
“The tested alleged father is not the biological father of the tested child,” the report concluded.
Despite the outcome, Salasya struck a calm and reflective tone in a public statement shared on Facebook, choosing responsibility over outrage.
“To the mothers of my children, regardless of the outcome of any DNA test, I remain committed to supporting and caring for the children, as my dedication to their well being is unwavering,” he said.
The youthful MP went further, urging other men facing similar situations not to walk away from their parental responsibilities.
“I also encourage fellow fathers who may face challenging DNA results not to withdraw their support. Providing care and guidance to a child is a meaningful responsibility and a privilege, particularly where there is mutual respect and cooperation with the mother,” he added.
This comes as the MP took to social media to share that he has a new baby.
In a social media post on December 1, Peter Salasya invited Kenyans to share in his joy.
“Let us welcome Ameeliah Reign kalerwa on earth she is just hours old now,” the post read.
In April this year again, Peter Salasya delighted social media users with a picture of a newborn.
The Mumias East MP appeared overjoyed as he welcomed the newest member of his family, sharing the heartwarming news with Kenyans.
In the viral post, he wrote, “He is one day old. Let’s celebrate him,” alongside a beautiful photo of the baby.
Additionally, Salasya could not stop praising the baby’s cuteness and asked Kenyans to suggest names for the newest addition to his family.
