President William Ruto has presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Dorcas Agik Odhong Oduor as the new Attorney General and Beatrice Askul Moe as the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community Affairs and Regional Development at State House, Nairobi.
The appointments, approved by the National Assembly earlier in the week, follow the successful vetting of the nominees by the Parliamentary Committee on Appointment.

The swearing-in marks a significant reshuffle after President Ruto dissolved his cabinet on July 11, 2024.
Dorcas Oduor, previously the Secretary of Prosecutions at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), makes history as Kenya’s first female Attorney General.
Her extensive legal background and experience in the judiciary were key factors in her selection for the role.
Beatrice Askul Moe, formerly the County Executive Committee member for Water, Irrigation, and Agriculture in Turkana County, takes on the crucial role of leading the Ministry of East African Community Affairs and Regional Development.
Her leadership is expected to strengthen regional integration and development initiatives.
