Ruto with diplomats

President William Ruto has received Letters of Credence from three newly appointed ambassadors to Kenya during a ceremony held at State House, Nairobi.

The envoys include Paulo Neves Pocinho of Portugal, Matt Baugh of the United Kingdom, and Gabriel Pandureni Sinimbo of Namibia.

In a statement shared on his official social media platforms on Wednesday, May 6, Ruto said he welcomed the diplomats on behalf of the Kenyan people and expressed optimism about strengthening ties.

“On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Kenya, I extended a warm welcome to the diplomats and encouraged them to deepen cooperation and expand opportunities for the mutual benefit of our four countries,” he said.

The presentation of Letters of Credence formally marks the beginning of an ambassador’s diplomatic mission in a host country, paving the way for enhanced bilateral relations.

Ruto noted that Kenya remains committed to fostering strong partnerships with nations across the world, with a focus on trade, investment, and shared development goals.
