President William Ruto has led the nation in mourning the death of former Kajiado County Woman Representative, Janet Marania Teyiaa, who passed away earlier this week.

In a heartfelt message, President Ruto expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the former legislator, describing her as a passionate and distinguished public servant who served her community with unwavering dedication.

“I am saddened by the passing of former Kajiado County Woman Representative Janet Marania Teyiaa,” the President said in a statement released on Sunday.

President Ruto praised the late Teyiaa’s commitment to service, noting that her leadership had left a lasting impact on the people of Kajiado and beyond.

He added that her legacy of integrity and hard work would continue to inspire generations to come.

“Teyiaa was a passionate and distinguished public servant who served her people with dedication. She was a selfless team player and an inspiring role model who motivated many to pursue their dreams, despite humble beginnings. Our sincere condolences go out to her family, friends, and the people of Kajiado for the loss of such a great leader. We stand with you during this period of mourning.,” the President concluded.

Janet Teyiaa served as Kajiado Woman Representative between 2017 and 2022, where she was known for championing education, health, and empowerment programs, particularly for women and youth in pastoral communities.

Leaders from across the political divide have continued to send their tributes, recognizing her contributions and the trail she blazed in public service.
