President William Ruto has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to accelerating infrastructure development as part of a broader strategy to drive Kenya’s economic transformation.

Speaking during an inspection tour in Taita-Taveta County, the President said the government is focused on delivering tangible projects that directly improve the livelihoods of citizens across the country.

Ruto noted that key road projects in the region are progressing steadily, highlighting the ongoing construction of the 55-kilometre Mto Mwagodi–Dawida–Mbale–Wundanyi–Bura Junction road in Mwatate Constituency.

He added that the Illasit–Rombo–Njukini–Taveta road, which links Kajiado County and Taita-Taveta County, is also making notable progress, with 20 kilometres of the 60-kilometre stretch already completed.

According to the Head of State, construction of the Cess–Lake Jipe road is underway, while the government has already advertised the tender for the Maungu–Kasigau road and secured funding for the Voi–Sagalla road.

The President emphasized that the projects form part of a wider national plan to open up rural areas, ease transport, and stimulate economic activity, particularly in agriculture and trade.

“Our focus remains on building a strong foundation that supports inclusive growth and uplifts the lives of our people,” Ruto said.
