President William Ruto has boldly declared his readiness for the 2027 General Election, expressing confidence that Kenyans will evaluate his leadership based on tangible development outcomes.

Speaking at State House during a meeting with over 500 bishops, pastors, and evangelists from the Federation of Evangelical and Indigenous Christian Churches of Africa, Ruto said his administration’s record on the economy, healthcare, agriculture, housing, markets, and youth employment will speak for itself.

“I am ready for the test. That exam we will sit in 2027—I am ready for it,” Ruto told the gathering.
“On the economy, I will answer. On agriculture, you will see. On healthcare, affordable housing, youth employment—you will tell me.”

The President took a swipe at the opposition, accusing his political rivals of offering criticism without providing viable alternatives.

“You will tell me who has a better plan than the one I have. These other guys cannot tell you anything about the economy or our children’s education—they simply don’t have a plan,” he said.

Mocking slogans used during recent anti-government protests, Ruto added:
“All they say is ‘Ruto must go’, ‘Wantam’, ‘Kasongo’… Have they ever explained anything about agriculture even once?”

On youth-led protests, the President warned against incitement and urged leaders to channel their energy toward creating sustainable employment. He outlined government efforts aimed at tackling joblessness, including the export of skilled labour and the rollout of digital and housing programs.

“Labour mobility has enabled 400,000 young Kenyans to secure jobs abroad. Another 320,000 are working under the Affordable Housing Programme, and 180,000 more are engaged in digital jobs at Jitume Labs and Tatu City,” Ruto said.

He added that the government is establishing digital hubs in all 1,450 wards to boost access to online jobs and digital entrepreneurship.
