President William Ruto has called for collective efforts among African nations and stakeholders to achieve lasting peace and stability across the continent.
Speaking at State House Nairobi, President Ruto emphasized that sustainable peace in Africa can only be realized through unity and coordinated action aimed at silencing conflict and promoting stability.
The Head of State noted that South Sudan has made significant progress since the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in 2005 and its independence in 2011.
“Lasting peace in Africa requires all actors and stakeholders to work together and silence the guns, keep the peace and achieve stability,’Ruto said.
He acknowledged the resilience of the South Sudanese people, while highlighting the continued need for regional support.
“Kenya and the region have walked with the people of South Sudan through both their triumphs and challenges,” President Ruto stated.
During the meeting, the President held talks with former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete, who currently serves as the African Union High Representative for the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
