Rongai All Stars Queens have solidified their status as emerging stars in Kenya’s women’s football scene by clinching the Tujiamini Initiative Gold Award at the South Rift Region event.
The 11-year-old team received half a million shillings.
Coach Daniel Kyalo emphasized the team’s commitment to breaking barriers in competitive community football.
He shared that the substantial cash award will be invested in new kits, equipment, and improvements to their home pitch.
“Many of our players come from humble backgrounds. Training at the club not only enhances their athletic skills but also empowers them to make positive life choices, steering clear of social issues like teen pregnancy, early marriages, and drug abuse,” Kyalo stated.
He underscored the significance of investing in women’s football at the community level as a means to cultivate a talent pipeline for national and regional leagues through ongoing competitions and tournament participation.
Established in 2013, Rongai All Stars Queens have made remarkable progress in women’s football, starting their journey in the National Super League and evolving into a powerhouse that continues to produce outstanding talent on both national and international stages.
Rebecca Odato, a standout player currently with the National Under-17 team, gained recognition after being called up to the Rising Starlets during the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

Her teammate Rael Kamanda has advanced to the top-tier women’s league with Zetech Sparks, adding to the club’s success story.
