Diamond Platnumz’s elder cousin, Abdul Juma, popularly known as Romy Jons, has made a public confession days after parting ways with his first wife, Kay, with whom he had been together for eight years.
Romy, the vice president of the WCB Wasafi shared on his Instagram page on Friday, June 19, 2026, about the separation and revealed that he has secretly married a second wife without his first knowledge or consent. The first wife shares children with him and he has been the man of the family since they wed.
Romy Jons move has shocked many, stirring debate across Tanzania, as the ceremony was confirmed to be intimate and away from the public eye.
However, Romy has admitted his faults, asking for forgiveness from Kay and calling upon religious elders and family members to intervene and bring her back home.
“Nimeoa mke wa pili ndio naomba nikiri hilo!!! Mke mkubwa hakukubaliana na hilo… naomba aongee na mke mkubwa arudi nyumbani tuendelee na maisha. Nampenda na sipo tayari kumpoteza kwa namna yoyote ile,” Romy said in a statement.
Unlike Diamond, Romy Jons has kept his profile low, preferring his work speak for itself. The recent marriage has brought him into the limelight, as he has decided to marry a second wife. This also made Romy’s mother intervene, siding with her son and questioning why Kay Jons is not accepting the new co-wife.
In Tanzania, polygamy is legally recognized under certain circumstances and culturally, it remains practiced in some communities.
