This year’s Predator Energy Kenya National Freestyle Football Championship takes place this evening at the National Archives grounds in Nairobi’s CBD.
For the second consecutive year, Predator Energy has partnered with the World Freestyle Football Association (WFFA) to deliver a world-class national competition at the iconic Tom Mboya statue.
The 2025 edition again adopts a hybrid format, allowing freestylers to submit online video entries before competing live at the championship—a strategy organizers say ensures every freestyler in Kenya has the chance to participate and showcase their talent.
Following the video stage, the event will progress to solo battles, where athletes face off for spots in the later rounds, leading up to the quarterfinals and the final showdown for the top prize.
This year’s championship has attracted a record 22 competitors—17 men and 5 women—up from just 12 participants in 2024.
The judging panel features accomplished former freestylers: Soufiane Msalek from Morocco, Ashley Mkhize from South Africa, and Kenya’s own Edward Murimi.
The championship promises an exciting display of creativity, skill, and passion as Kenya’s best freestyle footballers vie for the national title.
Competitors hail from counties across the country, including talented young athletes aged 18 and above, as well as former professional footballers who have transitioned into freestyle.
Winners in both the male and female categories will take home the prestigious national champion title along with a cash prize of Ksh 50,000.
The first and second runners-up will receive Ksh 25,000 and Ksh 10,000 respectively in each category.
