Qatar has recruited 200 Kenyans into its National Police Force, marking a significant milestone in the growing labor partnership between the two nations.
The recruits, ranging from Form Four leavers to university graduates, are part of Qatar’s broader initiative to employ more Kenyans in various sectors.
Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi confirmed the development following a meeting with Qatari Ambassador Mohamed Al-Enazi in Nairobi.
He urged Qatar to expand its workforce intake to include more Kenyan professionals, particularly teachers, nurses, and security personnel.

“Since 2024, Qatar has employed 7,000 Kenyans, bringing the total to 75,000. I urged the Ambassador to expand these opportunities, including roles for Kiswahili teachers. Notably, Qatar recently recruited 200 Kenyans into its National Police Force, ranging from Form 4 leavers to university graduates. I also emphasized the need for collaboration in media operations and capacity building.” he said.
The meeting also covered economic cooperation, with Mudavadi inviting Qatari business leaders to the World Chambers Congress, set for April 9-11, 2025, in Nairobi—the first time the global event will be hosted in Africa.

Additionally, discussions touched on shifting the upcoming Foreign Ministerial meeting from Nairobi to Doha in November 2025.
Also present at the meeting was Ashakur Hussein, Deputy Director-General of the Middle East Directorate at Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
