In a bold move set to redefine Kenya’s political landscape, Bunge la Mwananchi has officially launched Kenya-Moja, a new grassroots coalition advocating for inclusive development, national unity, and civic empowerment.

The announcement was made during a public address marking the “Sita Sita” Day—a prelude to the historic Saba Saba Day.

Led by founding members like Daniel Makori, the movement brings together diverse voices—youth, women, civil society, diaspora, and policy experts—under the rallying call of “Maendeleo Bila Upendeleo” (development without discrimination).

Kenya-Moja positions itself as a people-powered alternative to Kenya’s entrenched tribal politics and elite-driven alliances.

Speakers emphasized the movement’s historical context, tracing political exclusion and regional inequalities from the post-independence Sessional Paper No. 10 of 1965 to the violence of 2007–2008, and the unfulfilled promise of the 2010 Constitution.”This movement is not against any government—it is about creating a space for all Kenyans to shape their destiny,” said Anthoney “We are not building another personality cult—we’re building a republic rooted in equity and dignity.”

Kenya-Moja outlined four core goals: inclusive economic transformation, dignified politics, youth civic empowerment, and robust government accountability.

They pledged to hold county and national leaders accountable, invest in civic education, and organize mashinani (grassroots) dialogues across Kenya.

Francis Awino, President of Bunge la Mwananchi and a Kenya-Moja co-founder, urged citizens to reclaim national ownership. “We must move from being subjects of the state to being co-owners of this country,” he said. “Kenya belongs to all of us, not just a select few.”The launch signals a growing momentum for citizen-led political renewal in Kenya.

As the country heads toward the 2027 general elections, Kenya-Moja hopes to inspire a new generation of leaders committed to fairness, inclusivity, and a truly united republic.
