Tanzanian music star Diamond Platinumz has addressed the rumors surrounding Mbosso’s exit from his record label, Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB).

In a post on his Instagram stories, Diamond clarified that he and Mbosso are still in talks about how Mbosso will transition to becoming an independent artist. He explained that they have already had a productive conversation about the details of this move.

“We’ve had a great discussion with Mbosso on how he will officially start his journey as an independent artist. We’ve wrapped up the conversation in a positive way,” Diamond shared.

He added that both he and Mbosso would release an official statement soon. He also asked fans to disregard any other information that might circulate regarding the matter. “If anything else is said about this, please ignore it until Mbosso and I release an official statement,” he stated.

The news about Mbosso’s departure was initially shared by Baba Levo, a close friend of Diamond. On January 30, 2025, Baba Levo revealed that Mbosso would be leaving Wasafi without any financial obligations. He also mentioned that nine new artists would be signed to the label in 2025, following Mbosso’s exit.

“Out of respect for Diamond and the Wasafi team, Mbosso has been given the freedom to go and pursue his career independently,” Baba Levo explained. “Nine new artists will join Wasafi this year.”

This clears the air on Mbosso’s future, confirming that he will explore new opportunities as a solo artist while maintaining a positive relationship with Diamond and the Wasafi family.
