Principal Secretary for Public Health and Professional Standards, Mary Muthoni, CBS, has praised Rotary International for its significant contributions to Kenya’s public health sector.
Speaking at the Centennial Foundation Gala Award Dinner held in Nairobi, PS Muthoni acknowledged Rotary’s efforts in combating polio, improving maternal health, and enhancing pandemic preparedness.
“Rotary has been a steadfast partner in enhancing health outcomes for our communities. This partnership embodies the spirit of collaboration that drives sustainable change,” she said.
The event marked Rotary’s 100 years of impactful service in Africa, celebrating the achievements of Paul Harris Fellows and Major Donors who have advanced healthcare initiatives in Kenya.

The gala followed medical camps in seven regions, culminating in specialized care at Pumwani Maternity Hospital to support underserved populations.
Rotary International President, Dr. Stephanie Urchick, reiterated the organization’s commitment to Universal Health Coverage, mental health advocacy, and addressing climate-related health challenges.
She highlighted the collaboration with Kenya’s Ministry of Health as central to building sustainable health systems.
“This milestone reflects our shared vision of building resilient, healthier communities. Together, we are creating a legacy of service and hope for future generations,” said Dr. Urchick.
