President William Ruto has called on the world leaders to preserve their heritage and pass on a healthier, more inclusive and regenerative planet to future generations.

Speaking during the 2025 Wildebeest Migration Live Address at the breathtaking Pristine Mara Bay in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, President Ruto described the event as a celebration of nature’s resilience and a powerful reminder of what is possible when nations work together.

“It gives me immense pleasure to welcome the world to witness this great miracle of life unfold,” he said.

The president commended the collaboration between Kenya and China in building trust, understanding and joint responsibility in preserving heritage.

The president commended the ongoing collaboration between Kenya and China, particularly with the China Media Group (CMG), which helped bring spectacle to million of viewers around the globe through broadcast.

“Today's historic broadcast is a powerful reminder that what is possible when vision meets partnership is phenomenal,” he said.

He stated that this annual wildebeest spectacle is globally recognised as the greatest land migration.

This has earned the Maasai Mara global listing as hosting the World’s Greatest Annual Terrestrial Wildlife Migration.

The Head of State expressed satisfaction with the government’s measures to restore bio diversity in the wild through innovative policies

He commended the Maasai people whose culture, hospitality and guardianship make this landscape unforgettable.

“These measures have made Maasai Mara not only a wildlife haven but also a global symbol of sustainability. Kenya has welcomed over 2.4 million international visitors over the past year .This records a 15% rise in confidence of the global audience towards Kenya,” said the president.

Among those present at the event were Narok County Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano, among other leaders.
