President William Ruto has hailed Thursday’s sweeping victories by the broad-based government in all seven parliamentary by-elections, saying the outcome demonstrates that Kenyans have renewed confidence in his administration.

Addressing a gathering on Friday, the President praised both UDA and ODM candidates who clinched seats in Mbeere North, Malava, Banissa, Ugunja, Kasipul, Magarini, and the Baringo Senatorial race. He said the wins affirmed that Kenyans have rejected what he termed as divisive rhetoric from opposition leaders ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Ruto accused opposition politicians of advancing tribal and inflammatory politics, warning that their strategy would not deliver electoral success in 2027. He added that the by-election results were a clear signal of the direction Kenyans intend to take.

While congratulating the soon-to-be sworn-in lawmakers, the President maintained that the broad-based government remains focused on delivering development and uniting the country.

Meanwhile, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar warned party members who campaigned for rival candidates that disciplinary action would be taken against them. He also urged individuals alleging voter bribery and intimidation to present their evidence before the courts rather than making unsubstantiated public claims.

The by-elections mark one of the strongest electoral performances by the broad-based government since its formation, strengthening its presence in both Parliament and the Senate.
