President William Ruto has reaffirmed his commitment to fostering national unity, saying he will lead efforts to build bridges across political formations, regions, and communities.

Speaking during his Nairobi County tour, the Head of State defended the UDA-ODM pact, insisting it was aimed at addressing the country’s challenges rather than benefiting individual leaders. On the third day of his tour, President Ruto visited Dagoretti South, Dagoretti North, and Westlands, where he launched and commissioned various development projects.

In Dagoretti South, he oversaw the launch of an open digital innovation hub and classrooms, while in Dagoretti North, he commissioned the construction of a new chief’s camp. Later, in Westlands, he inspected the ongoing construction of the Kangemi Bridge.

The President used the tour to rally political leaders to set aside their differences and work together for the country’s progress. Defending his recent political truce with ODM leader Raila Odinga, Ruto said the bipartisan agreement between the two parties would enhance political stability and accelerate development.“This is not about individuals; it is about finding solutions to the issues affecting our people.

We must work together for the good of our country,” Ruto stated. He also took a swipe at opposition leaders, accusing some of inciting the public for political gain. The President, who was accompanied by lawmakers from both the UDA and ODM parties, urged Kenyans to reject divisive politics and instead support efforts geared toward national development.

Ruto’s tour of Nairobi comes at a time when political realignments are taking shape, with his administration keen on consolidating support across the political divide.
