Police in Isebania Migori County, have arrested a suspect following the discovery of 14 and a half sacks of bhang at a residential house in the Tarakwiti area. The consignment, estimated to be worth Ksh 12.9 million, was found hidden in a house that had been under surveillance by detectives.

Confirming the arrest, Migori County Police Commander Francis Nguli stated that law enforcement officers had been tracking the illegal trade before making the bust. Investigations are ongoing to determine the source and intended destination of the drugs.

In a separate incident, police in Isebania town impounded 23 cartons of explosives, four drums of cyanide, each weighing 50 kilograms and two cartons of detonative wires.

Authorities have not disclosed the intended use of the explosives but have assured the public that security agencies are conducting further investigations.The seizure of both the bhang and explosives raises concerns over rising criminal activities in the region.

Police have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities as part of efforts to curb illegal trade and enhance security.
