Police in Baringo County have successfully recovered 47 cows that were stolen by armed bandits in the Ng’aratuko area.Confirming the operation, Baringo County Commissioner Sangolo Kutwa stated that security officers, in collaboration with National Police Reservists (NPR), managed to track and retrieve all the stolen livestock.

The bandits, who raided the area, also attempted to steal goats from residents but were thwarted by the security team. Commissioner Kutwa has since issued a stern warning to criminals disguising themselves as herders, only to engage in cattle rustling.”We will not allow criminal elements to terrorize our people under the pretext of grazing. Security operations will be intensified to ensure the safety of residents and their livestock,” Kutwa said.

Livestock theft has been a persistent challenge in parts of Baringo, with authorities ramping up efforts to curb the menace through intelligence-led operations and enhanced security patrols.Residents have lauded the swift action by security forces and urged for long-term solutions to the recurring banditry problem in the region.
