Sergeant Daniel Kipruto Kangogo, a police officer attached to the Presidential Escort Unit, has died.
Kangogo died on Tuesday, April 22, after collapsing while on duty. He was in the company of his colleagues when he suddenly lost consciousness.
The officer was rushed to Karen Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Kangogo’s cause of death was not immediately established, but police have launched investigations to ascertain it.
As part of the Presidential Escort Unit, Kangogo was responsible for the protection of President William Ruto and his immediate family.
