President Ruto on Thursday received full military honours as he arrived at the Parliament Buildings ahead of his national address.

The Head of State was welcomed with a ceremonial Guard of Honour mounted by the 19th Battalion, Kenya Rifles of the Kenya Army.

The President inspected the parade, a tradition that marks the formality and national significance of the event.

He arrived in the company of First Lady Rachel Ruto, and together they were received by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, and the Speaker of the Senate, Amason Kingi.

Senior parliamentary leaders and top officers from both Houses were also present to usher in the First Couple.

The colourful arrival ceremony, marked by military precision and parliamentary protocol, set the tone for a closely watched session in which the President was expected to address key national issues before a joint sitting of Parliament.
