Chief Justice Martha Koome on April 27, 2026, hosted the newly elected Council of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) in a high-level consultative meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Judiciary and the Bar.

The LSK delegation was led by President Charles Kanjama and Vice President Teresia Wavinya Nicholas, marking their first formal engagement with the Chief Justice since assuming office.

Also present was Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Winfridah Mokaya alongside registrars from various courts, who oversee key administrative and operational functions within the justice system.

“Hon Chief Justice Martha Koome, on April 27, 2026 hosted the newly elected Council of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) led by President Charles Kanjama, SC and Vice President Teresia Wavinya Nicholas, in a consultative meeting that reaffirmed a unified and strengthened front between the Judiciary and the Bar,”Judiciary statement read.

During the meeting, both the Judiciary and LSK reaffirmed a joint commitment to confront corruption and accelerate reforms aimed at improving access to justice, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring responsiveness to the needs of Kenyans.

CJ Koome emphasized that the Judiciary, working closely with institutions such as the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) and the National Council on the Administration of Justice (NCAJ), will not tolerate any form of corruption within its ranks.

“It was firmly reiterated that a zero-tolerance policy remains fully in force and will be enforced without exception,” the statement said.
