Kenyan politics and fame have collided again after Mumias East MP Peter Salasya was drawn into a whirlwind of social media rumors with his employee, Harriet Njenga, by YouTuber Kimbikimbi.

In an angry online post, Salasya refuted accusations of romance with Harriet, affirming that their relationship is business only. “She simply works for me, nothing more,” Salasya explained, adding to tell Kimbikimbi to desist from spreading such rumors. He even jokingly questioned the number of cows he could bring along to unite Kimbikimbi with a possible suitor rather than bringing his name to scandal.

Harriet herself did not hold back. Taking to social media, she sternly cautioned her friend Kimbikimbi against bringing her and her boss into clout-seeking shenanigans. “Kimbikimbi, you are my good friend but I won’t let all this trash you are posting… get attention somewhere else but leave the name of my boss and myself out of it,” she asserted.

The exchange was immediately trending on social media, causing angry online debates. While some netizens praised Salasya’s straightforward clapbacks, other netizens praised Harriet for standing up and setting the record straight in public.
