Nairobi City Stars boss Patrick Korir has started working as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) interim CEO.
Korir was appointed yesterday to replace Barry Otieno who resigned after serving for five years.
It is speculated Otieno is eyeing a position in the forthcoming FKF presidential elections.
Korir was warmly welcomed by FKF staff, marking the start of a new chapter for the federation under his leadership.
Korir is not a novice in sports realms. Before becoming the City Stars CEO, the Egerton University Computer Science graduate had served as a sports journalist and a Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom tournament coordinator for years.
Today he met FKF staff to familiarise with the ongoing projects at the federation.
His first agenda was focused on maintaining operational continuity within the federation.

He reassured the staff of his commitment to fostering teamwork and driving the federation forward amid the upcoming FKF elections and key footballing events, including the U20 AFCON CECAFA Qualifiers, Junior Starlets participation in the upcoming Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup, Harambee Stars’ 2025 AFCON Qualifiers and all ongoing domestic leagues.
