Interdicted KMPDC Officer Arrested in SHA Fraud Case

An interdicted officer at the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) has been arrested in connection with alleged fraud at the Social Health Authority (SHA).

The interdicted officer, Harun Liluma, was picked up by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations as part of the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the health scheme.

According to the police, the suspect is expected to appear before the Milimani Law Courts, where he is expected to face charges of conspiracy to defraud, abuse of office, and computer fraud.

According to the police, the charges have been approved by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions following an investigation by the DCI.

The SHA has recently been under the spotlight over claims of fraud in the system. There are expectations of more arrests as the investigation continues to ensure that public funds are not being abused in the system concerning the insurance scheme in the country.

In the recent past, the health scheme has come under scrutiny over alleged fraudulent activities in the scheme.

According to the investigators, the ongoing probe is expected to lead to the arrest of more individuals in the near future as they seek to ensure the safety of public funds in the country’s health insurance scheme.
