Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has responded to President William Ruto’s remarks that the opposition lacks a clear agenda for Kenyans.
In several public forums, President Ruto said opposition leaders, including Gachagua, Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, among others, are mainly focused on divisive politics and tribalism, with no development plan for citizens.
Speaking after holding a meeting at Kalonzo’s home, Gachagua said their main, top priority agenda is to remove the head of state from office, in the 2027 General Election.
"The most important thing for Kenya to move forward is that Ruto must go. That is the most important thing. He keeps shouting that we have no agenda; we do have an agenda! The agenda is to remove him first," said Gachagua.
Gachagua stood his ground, insisting that sending Ruto home is not just a political strategy but a critical mission for them.
"So William Ruto, don’t dictate our agenda, sort out yours. We have an agenda, and the first is for Kenya to improve, for work to continue, and for the nation to stand tall, you must be a one-term president," the former DP added.
