April Fools’ Day came with a wave of playful tricks, and many Kenyans found themselves caught up in hilarious pranks. From bizarre menu additions to fake celebrity announcements, here are some of the top hoaxes that had people talking.

Java Stirs Up the Fun with a Strange Menu Addition

Renowned eatery Java House took pranking to the next level by unveiling an unexpected new dish that left many scratching their heads. In a playful social media post, Java announced the debut of its latest culinary creation: the “Omena Matumbo Wrap with Miwa Juice.”

“This new month comes with new tasty bites! We’re proud to introduce our omena matumbo wrap with miwa juice! This combo will definitely keep you hooked and coming back for more! Grab a plate or two and enjoy! #JavaLove,” read the cheeky announcement.

The post quickly gained traction, with amused customers debating whether to take the announcement seriously or brush it off as an elaborate April Fools’ joke. Some adventurous foodies expressed curiosity about the peculiar combination, while others couldn’t hide their skepticism.

Celebrities Join in on the Fun

Not to be left behind, several celebrities also jumped on the prank bandwagon. Singer Judith Nyambura Mwangi, popularly known as Avril, had fans buzzing after she seemingly announced a pregnancy by sharing an old image of her baby bump. As congratulatory messages poured in, she later set the record straight with a follow-up post, playfully admitting to the joke.

“Face reveal. It’s April! My month! Of course, I was going to start it with a bang! Thank you for the heartfelt wishes. What a morning!! #NaHiiEconomy!! #AprilFoolsDay,” she wrote, leaving fans in stitches.

Meanwhile, celebrity couple Terrence Creative and Milly Chebby played their own prank, claiming they had made the difficult decision to permanently relocate to China. Currently on a business trip in the country, the couple’s announcement seemed convincing, with many followers expressing both surprise and support.

“Finally relocating fully, it’s been a hard decision to make but finally we are happy to announce that we will be relocating from Kenya. To our online family, thanks for always holding us down and being there for us. We look forward to creating more content over this side as well as setting up our first-ever home appliances and electric shop. Keep those orders coming through @millychebby,” they posted.
